US Companies Charging More For Consumer Goods; More Price Increases Expected
The Wall Street Journal (7/22, Francis, Gryta, Guilford, Subscription Publication) reported that amid increasing costs for transportation, materials, and salaries, US companies are charging more for products ranging from Oreo cookies to metal fasteners, fueling inflation not seen in more than 10 years. And as consumers accept the new price tags, some large companies said they plan to lift prices even more.
